Chipping Away
I'm still at it!! It has been a lot harder this time to lose weight and to quit smoking. The weight is coming off, but ounce by ounce instead of pound by pound. It is testing my persistence. The smoking habit has been harder to shake this time than ever before, but I try again almost every day. One of these days it will stick. I want to personally thank a couple of very inspirational people in my life. These two individuals have personally got me going again and got me off the slacker sofa. First a big thanks to Tom Griffen. Tom owns a Fleet Feet Sports Store in Aptos, California and outfitted me with shoes, shorts, shirts, socks, and a hat for good measure. The shoes alleviated the pain in my feet immediately. The first workout with the new shoes---no pain!!! Thanks Tom. The second person in Kimberly Hornberg. She wrote an article about me on her website and it really got me going again. I was in a bad place and things were not going to well and then BOOM this article comes out and I'm out again on the road and working toward my goal. Thanks Kim for the kick in the butt. You can read her article on her website at howmanymiles.org. I'm off to chip chip away!
