What to do when there is nothing to do
When there is nothing to do you can:
paint a picture
take a deep breath
have a cup of tea
dust the cubbies
write a note to one of the parents about something amazing their child did today
call your mother
sort out the Lost and Found box
make a fresh batch of playdough... or flubber... or ooblick
start a small notebook to carry with you to document some of your observations of your children
bleach/clean the telephone receiver
change your bulletin boards
make another cup of tea
write a "thinking of you" note for one of your co-workers and put it where s/he will find it later
water the plants
re-fold the clothes in the "extra clothes" box - chances are the box will need a scrub as well
take another deep breath
go for a walk around the block
pick up the trash that floated into the yard
sort thru the sand toys and pitch the old broken ones
or - send me an email and let me know one thing you did today that made an impact on the lives of the children in your room...
or maybe today they impacted you.
I'll be waiting to hear from you.
much love,
lisa
